You know how some people say that they get their creativity from drugs? Well, some of my favorite ideas have stemmed from dreams. I have started two stories based almost entirely on two different dreams that I had. Both dreams had solid plots with driving mechanics that I probably never would have thought of 'on my own', hehe.
May be half a dozen of my songs 'came to me' in dreams. The melodies were just there, playing. I woke up, made sure they were not already written by some one else (some times in my dreams I believe that copyrighted works are original new ideas and am confused when I wake up), and then quickly plugged them in to Fruity Loops before I forgot about them.
Does stuff like that happen to any one else here? Even just inspiring you to do some thing... some thing different from what you would normally do without having the dream.
Oh. I also had a long series of dreams that influenced me to become friends with a stranger. It turned out pretty well.

I wouldn't call it inspiration, but for the past month or so I've been dreaming about drugs. In every dream I am on drugs doing something fun and exciting; be it a party, playing games, or just laughing at a wall...(I did dream that)
I don't know if I'm trying to tell myself to do drugs or if I'm just going through a phase.
On an inspirational note: I thought of a kick ass recipe when I was sleeping about 7 months ago. It was a maple-soy glaze, I've never heard of it before but then I found out it was already out there : ( Any who if you guys like chicken make some of that glaze : )

I love chicken. And that sounds delicious. Sometimes I'll get ideas for drawings from dreams - although by the time I actually get around to drawing them, the images and themes have faded from my memory enough that the finished product comes out looking way different than I expected. This drawing was based on a dream I had a while ago; I was in a flooded building with a friend, and this guy led us out of it and toward the end he handed me the baggie with the leafy seadragon inside. The only distinguishing features I remember about him were his iridescent hair and the baggy jeans he wore with dragons embroidered on the back pockets. Like I said, a lot of times it takes me too long to draw the picture and I'll end up forgetting certain important details. I hate how quickly dream images fade away.

Like two months ago I had this epic battle dream. It was in this big shiny castle that like moved and changed shape as the dream progressed. There was magic and swords and explosions and teleportation and light speed movements and all that good shit. There was music playing in the back ground that I used for the build up of one of my gabber tracks.
I hardly ever dream of any thing cool, any more. Gabber Jihad expressed having the same problem to me, before. I thinks we's getting old and lame}=<((
Real life is so boring. Too static. Too predictable. Too slow moving. Boring.

I think the dreams I have generally aren't about inspiration. Most of the dreams I have seem to be more about myself trying to tell me something. And most fade. There are some that I remember with amazing detail, and those dreams usually have some crazy coincidence with waking life. In December, I had a dream about this beach next to some cliffs, and all of a sudden, there were just millions and millions of bulls/oxen (male) coming out of the ocean. Like stampeding out of it. It was so extremely vivid, I can actually still remember sounds and smells. And then the baby bulls were sitting all along the beach on the rocks of the cliffs.
It was bizarre. But I got the distinct feeling it meant something.
Haven't figured it out yet, but hey...lol.
Other dreams seem to tell me to do something. Like I'll have this dream about someone, and it's pretty average, nothing special, but I won't be able to get the person out of my head, so I'll call....and often it turns out they were thinking of me, too. Or I'll draw the person...
I think in that sense, it could be inspiration.... But I'm not sure.
Then a lot of my dreams end up being bizarre beyond comprehension. Or I'll dream I got up and lived my day, and something crazy happens and I'm like "I MUST be dreaming" and it turns out I am.
I think most people have at least a few dreams that inspire them in their lives. I don't think it's really uncommon.

Yeah. I would assume that a lot of people are affected by their dreams, but I rarely hear about it. And yeah, I wasn't just talking about dreams that inspire you to be creative or some thing. More... just any thing in a dream that generated an action or reaction in real life that other wise would not have occurred.
